A glimpse into the future of mobility has arrived in Kathmandu, as the NADA Auto Show 2025 opens with flying cars and advanced robots on display at Bhrikutimandap.
Among the headline attractions is Depall’s fully electric flying car, capable of vertical take-off and landing. Dubbed an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), the model signals a bold step towards redefining urban transportation.
The 17th edition of Nepal’s flagship automotive showcase has also welcomed Unitree, a cutting-edge robot presented by Chinese tech leader Hangzhou Yushu Technology Co., Ltd., which is serving as this year’s title sponsor. Both the Robot Man and Robot Dog are being demonstrated live, drawing fascinated crowds.
MAW Vriddhi Auto Corp Pvt. Ltd., under the MAW Group, has introduced Depall’s flying car to Nepal for the very first time. The model, branded as Depall EVTOL UAV, is expected to be one of the biggest crowd-pullers of the event.
Globally, interest in flying cars is accelerating. From the United States to China, regulators are drafting frameworks to integrate them into airspace, while Dubai and other Gulf nations have already authorised test flights. In China, multiple brands have emerged, with five showcasing flying cars at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year.
For Nepal, however, this marks a milestone moment: the country’s first flying car showcase, signalling a future where next-generation mobility could soon become a reality.
