Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, said hospitals can no longer say they do not have medicines. He visited Ilam Hospital and stressed that hospitals under the health insurance program must stock the required medicines.

    Hospitals Must Keep Essential Medicines

The Health Insurance Board has listed 98 medicines that hospitals must have. Minister Paudel said hospitals must follow this rule.

“Hospitals cannot say they lack medicines. They must keep the required ones for insured patients,” he said.

The government is working to make sure hospitals follow this rule. The Ministry of Health is improving the system. Minister Paudel admitted there are some problems with managing health insurance. But the government is fixing them.

    Issues in District Hospitals

During the visit, Ilam Hospital Chief Dr. Prabhu Shah said the hospital does not have enough doctors. Many district hospitals have the same problem. This shortage affects patient care.

Minister Paudel agreed and said doctors prefer city jobs. To fix this, the government will introduce rules. Doctors must work where they are assigned.

“We will ensure doctors work where they are needed. The Ministry will take action,” he said.

    Improving Healthcare Facilities

The Health Ministry is upgrading hospitals. Minister Paudel said the government is adding medical equipment and improving services.

Rural hospitals often lack devices and proper care. The government is fixing these problems. Hospitals will get the tools they need.

“We will strengthen healthcare. Hospitals will receive what they need,” the Health Minister said.

    Strengthening Health Insurance

The health insurance program aims to make healthcare easy and affordable. But some problems remain. These include medicine shortages and lack of doctors. The Ministry is working to solve them.

With strict rules and better policies, healthcare will improve. The government is making sure all people get good medical care.
