In an impressive show of batting, Netherlands Women cruised to a 10-wicket victory over Nepal Women in their latest T20 match. Nepal Women, after winning the toss and opting to bat, posted a total of 145/4 in their 20 overs. Puja Mahato played a standout role, scoring 62 runs off 51 balls, supported by Indu Barma’s 39 runs from 37 balls. However, the Netherlands bowlers, led by Iris Zwilling (2 wickets for 25 runs) and Heather Siegers (1 wicket for 14 runs), kept the Nepal Women’s batting in check.
In response, the Netherlands Women made quick work of the target, reaching 151/0 in just 19.4 overs. The opening pair of Sterre Kalis and Phebe Molkenboer showed their dominance, with Kalis smashing an unbeaten 98 runs from 69 balls, while Molkenboer contributed with 48 runs from 49 balls. Despite a valiant effort from Nepal’s bowlers, including Kabita Joshi and Manisha Upadhayay, who both went for under 20 runs in their 3-over spells, the Netherlands Women reached their target comfortably, sealing a 10-wicket victory.
Sterre Kalis’ powerful performance with the bat ensured that the Netherlands Women comfortably chased down the target, leaving Nepal Women to reflect on another disappointing defeat.
