Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of local and westerly winds, affecting weather conditions across various regions. According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the impact is primarily observed in the hilly and mountainous areas, bringing variations in cloud cover and precipitation.

Partly Cloudy Skies in Hilly Regions

As of Thursday morning, the hilly regions of Nepal remain partly cloudy, while most other areas of the country experience clear skies. The weather conditions are being closely monitored by the Weather Forecasting Division, which has issued updates on potential rainfall and snowfall in specific regions.

    Possibility of Rain and Thunderstorms

The Division has forecasted a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in isolated areas of the hilly regions, particularly in Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. This precipitation is expected to be brief but may temporarily disrupt local activities in these regions.

Light Snowfall in High Hills and Mountains

In addition to rain, there is also a likelihood of light snowfall in some high hilly and mountainous areas. According to the Division’s 6 AM bulletin on Thursday, travelers and residents in these regions should remain prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.

Weather Outlook for the Coming Days

Experts suggest that the influence of local and westerly winds may persist for the next few days. While no extreme weather events are currently predicted, fluctuations in temperature and localized precipitation are expected.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division advises residents, trekkers, and travelers to stay informed about real-time weather updates and exercise caution while venturing into high-altitude areas.
