Banks and customs offices will continue to operate on public holidays, with the exception of the main day of Dashain, officials have confirmed.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyaya during a meeting with private sector representatives at the Ministry of Finance.

He also stated that the government is taking steps to reopen the Tatopani border crossing, which has remained closed due to landslides.

Earlier, Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal held discussions with leaders and representatives from key private sector organisations, including the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Nepal Automobile Dealers’ Association, Chaudhary Group, and Bhatbhateni Group.

During the talks, business leaders and entrepreneurs requested measures such as tax concessions, concessional loans, and timely settlement of insurance claims. Minister Khanal responded by saying that the government will soon roll out an Integrated Trade Recovery Plan and expressed readiness to provide support through adjustments in tax and monetary policy.
