The Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha is hosting its oath-taking ceremony today at 10:00 AM at the DRDA Guest House in Kaziranga. This event marks a fresh chapter for the organization as new leaders step in to promote Nepali literature and culture in Assam.

    New Leadership Takes Charge

During the 16th triennial meeting in Sarupathar, members selected a new leadership team. Dr. Chintamani Sharma is the new President, with Dr. Induprabha Devi as the Executive President and Tilak Sharma as the General Secretary. Their induction today reinforces the Sabha’s mission to preserve and develop Nepali literary traditions. The new team is expected to introduce projects that encourage the study and appreciation of the Nepali language.

    Key Guests and Discussions

Several notable figures are attending the event, including past and newly elected officials, district representatives, and central committee members. Leaders from the BTR regional team and members of the women’s cell are also present to witness the leadership transition.

Beyond the oath-taking, discussions will focus on future initiatives. The new team plans to expand outreach, organize literary events, and support young writers. These efforts aim to strengthen the presence of Nepali literature in Assam.

    Expanding Nepali Literature’s Reach

The Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha has played a vital role in preserving the region’s Nepali language and culture. Under the new leadership, the organization plans to engage the younger generation by hosting literary competitions and workshops. Strengthening ties with other cultural groups will also help increase the visibility of Nepali literature.

Digitization is another key focus. The Sabha plans to archive and document traditional works, ensuring their preservation for future generations.

With dynamic initiatives, the new committee hopes to foster creativity and literary excellence. By collaborating with local communities and schools, they aim to inspire greater interest in Nepali literature.
