Nepal is launching a new plan to grow its tourism sector by focusing on mountain and spiritual travel. The Ministry of Tourism, led by Minister Badri Prasad Pandey, is promoting the country as a top choice for visitors looking for peace, nature, and meaningful experiences. This plan was shared at the Himalayan Travel Mart in Kathmandu, a key event for the travel industry.

More than 250 tourism experts from across the world took part in the event. Over 60 international buyers from 20 countries joined the meeting. It was organized by PATA Nepal and aimed to find new ways to grow tourism while protecting Nepal’s culture and environment.

During the conference, Minister Pandey said Nepal must grow its tourism in a way that respects nature and local traditions. He warned that climate change is already affecting the Himalayan region. He said tourism must help communities and not harm natural areas. The goal is to build a travel industry that supports people and protects the land for future generations.

Many experts said that travelers today are looking for wellness and spiritual trips. Nepal is well known for its mountain views, calm monasteries, and sacred places. These are perfect for visitors who want to relax, reflect, and feel connected to nature.

Tourism leaders shared ideas to develop yoga centers, meditation tours, and wellness resorts. They said these services would help Nepal welcome more visitors who care about health and balance. At the same time, they advised the country to offer more eco-friendly hotels, clean transport, and training for local guides. This will make trips safe, meaningful, and respectful to both tourists and local people.

The event also showed how international teamwork can support Nepal’s tourism goals. Speakers from different countries talked about how to mix culture, adventure, and care for the environment. They explained how travel companies, hotels, and local groups can work together. This can make tourism better for everyone, including small communities.

Tourism buyers showed strong interest in working with Nepal. They said they liked the country’s plan to grow tourism slowly and carefully. Many are ready to promote Nepal as a great place for mindful and nature-based travel. The event also helped local travel businesses meet global partners and share their ideas.

Nepal’s tourism ministry said it will keep working on smart strategies. These include improving local airports, training workers, and protecting cultural sites. The goal is to grow the number of tourists while keeping Nepal’s natural beauty and rich history safe.

With its new focus, Nepal is ready to lead in spiritual and green tourism. The country offers peace, nature, and culture in one unique package. This plan supports both the environment and the people who live in these mountain areas.
