Kathmandu, Feb 18: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has named 18 players for training before their friendly cricket series in Uganda. This is an important step for Nepal’s women’s cricket team. It will help them prepare for future matches.

The team will train before their games in Uganda from March 6 to 17. The Uganda Cricket Association is hosting the matches. These games will help Nepal’s players gain experience and improve their skills.

    Players Chosen for Training

Indu Verma will lead the team. She is a key player and has led the team before. Other players include Rachana Kumari Chaudhary, Sana Prabin, Riya Sharma, Seemana KC, Shobha Rokaya, Rajmati Airi, Alisa Kumari Yadav, Sabnam Rai, Rubina Chhetri, and Mamta Kumari Chaudhary.

The squad also has Kabita Joshi, Roma Thapa, Ishwori Bista, Samjhana Kumari Khadka, Pooja Mahato, Bindu Rawal, and Manisha Kumari Upadhyay. The mix of young and experienced players will help the team grow stronger.

    Why the Uganda Tour Matters

This tour is a chance for Nepal’s team to test their skills. Uganda’s team is improving, so the matches will be a challenge. Both teams will benefit from this friendly series.

Nepal’s women’s cricket team has been growing. But they do not get enough chances to play against other countries. Travel costs and limited resources make it hard. This tour will give players a chance to play in new conditions and build confidence.

    Training for the Matches

The team will focus on batting, bowling, and fielding. Coaches will teach new strategies and teamwork. Players will also work on fitness. They need to be in top shape for the matches.

Experts say international matches help teams grow. These games will show what Nepal’s team needs to improve. It will help them prepare for bigger tournaments.

    Women’s Cricket in Nepal

More young girls are playing cricket in Nepal. Nepal’s team has done well in past tournaments. Their success has inspired many. But the sport still needs more support. Better training facilities and more matches can help women’s cricket grow.

CAN is working to support women’s cricket. They organize training camps and local tournaments. Officials hope international tours will bring more attention to the sport. They also hope for more sponsors to support the team.

    What’s Next for the Team?

After Uganda, Nepal will prepare for future matches. Officials will watch their performance closely. It will help them plan for the next steps.

Nepal’s women’s cricket team has worked hard. With training and support, they can achieve more success. The team is determined to improve and perform better on the global stage.
