This October, Everest Inn Blackheath will once again dazzle the community with its much-anticipated Diwali festivities, taking place on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 October. The celebration, which has become a fixture on the local social calendar, promises an unforgettable evening of colour, culture and cuisine.

Since first opening its doors in 2005, the family-owned restaurant has earned a devoted following for its award-winning Nepalese dishes and immersive cultural events. This year’s Diwali – also known as Tihar or Deepawali – is set to be one of the most memorable yet, following strong demand from regulars and newcomers alike.

On arrival, guests will find the restaurant adorned with vibrant decorations, flickering candles and glowing lights, capturing the essence of Diwali as a festival of hope and joy. The evening begins in style with champagne and fine canapés, while traditional welcomes include a ceremonial Tika and Pote necklace for women, and a Nepali Topi for men – a cherished emblem of heritage.

The night continues with a candlelit three-course Nepalese banquet, accompanied by free-flowing fine wines and premium beers. Live performances from Diwali dancers will further elevate the atmosphere, filling the space with movement, rhythm and festive energy.

“Diwali is one of the most important festivals in our culture – it’s about light, community and sharing joy,” said Yadav Bhandari, owner of Everest Inn Blackheath. “We are delighted to welcome our friends, family and neighbours to celebrate with us once again.”

With limited availability, the event is expected to be one of the most popular occasions in Blackheath this October.
