Lalitpur Municipal Corporation (LMC) has proposed a budget of Rs 7.47 billion for the fiscal year 2025/26. Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya Bajracharya presented the income and spending plan in the municipal assembly on Tuesday.

Out of the total budget, Rs 2.96 billion is set aside for current expenses. The remaining Rs 4.50 billion is allocated for capital expenditure, which includes long-term projects and infrastructure.

The LMC aims to collect Rs 3.71 billion from local revenue sources. The budget focuses on key priorities such as good governance, protecting heritage and culture, building sustainable infrastructure, and promoting greenery and environmental care.

Other important areas in the budget include encouraging a self-reliant economy, improving the quality of education, ensuring clean drinking water for every home, social development, better health services, and creating job opportunities for youth.

This budget aims to support Lalitpur’s growth while preserving its rich cultural legacy and improving the quality of life for its residents.
