Nepal’s popular folk-rock band Nepathya captivated audiences in Boston during their USA Tour 2025. The concert was held at the Royal Boston Hall on June 10 and lasted two hours. This performance came seven years after their last major show in Boston. Lead singer Amrit Gurung, whose hair has turned white over the years, led the band through a mix of classic hits and new songs. Before Boston, the band performed in cities including Austin, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Their unique blend of folk melodies and rock music won the hearts of fans across the United States.
The show began at 8:00 PM with the song “Koshiko Pani.” The audience soon warmed up as Nepathya played favorites like “Bhedako Oon Jasto,” “Chhekyo Chhekyo,” and “Jomsom Bazaar.” The crowd cheered loudly during performances of well-loved songs such as “Resham” and “Taal Ko Pani.” Throughout the night, Amrit Gurung spoke about Nepal and its culture, urging listeners to remember their roots and the spirit of humanity.
During the concert, a member of the audience threw the Nepalese national flag onto the stage. Amrit paused his performance to pick it up and noticed writing on the flag. He then held the flag up and draped it over his shoulder to honor it. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause and cheers. After this moment, the band resumed playing without pause.
While performing the song “Shirphool Shirai Ma,” Amrit described the beauty of Nepal’s rural areas through his lyrics. The band also introduced a new song called “Karnalika Chhaila,” inspired by the Karnali region in western Nepal. The concert ended with moving renditions of “Gaun-Gaunbata Utha” and “Rato Ra Chandra Surya,” which filled the hall with patriotic emotion.
On stage, Amrit Gurung was accompanied by Dhruba Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Neeraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboard. Tickets were sold online through the band’s official website, making it easy for fans to attend the show. After the Boston concert, the 14-member group will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina for a performance on June 14 before returning to Nepal. The USA Tour 2025 is organized by MoMo Entertainment and Ke Garira.
