Hotel Himalaya bustled with excitement as the K‑Beauty Festa Nepal showcased the rising appeal of Korean beauty and culture in Kathmandu. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal organized the event to highlight the growing influence of K‑Beauty among Nepali consumers and youth.

Leading Korean cosmetics retailers in Nepal participated, including Korean Beauty Point, Dream Skin Nepal, KPG‑Beauty and Prettyclick. They displayed a wide range of skincare and beauty brands that have earned loyal followings. Attendees enjoyed special promotional offers and live product demonstrations that sold out quickly. The strong turnout reflected the popularity of Korean skincare routines and makeup trends in the Nepali market.

One of the main attractions was a Korean Skincare class led by Hoseok Jung, a famed Korean makeup artist and YouTuber known online as shawn_issure. The hands‑on session drew a large crowd eager to learn the steps behind glowing skin. Jung demonstrated a full routine, from cleansing and toning to layering essences and serums. He explained each step clearly and shared tips geared to South Asian skin types. Participants followed along and asked many questions. Many left impressed and motivated to try K‑Beauty methods at home.

Beyond beauty, the festival transported visitors into Korean culture. The K‑Culture Experience Zone allowed them to wear hanbok, learn Korean calligraphy, and practice traditional crafts. The bright colors of hanbok and the careful brush strokes of calligraphy created a festive yet respectful atmosphere. Korean food was also served, with bibimbap, tteokbokki, dakgangjeong and mandu among the popular options. Guests sampled these dishes while sipping tea or juice, enjoying the taste of Korea.

Another cultural element was the Korean Speech Contest. Ten Nepali contestants spoke in Korean on the theme of “Beauty.” They delivered short speeches about their views on beauty and culture. Their efforts were met with warm applause. The contest reflected both language learning and cultural exchange, showing how Nepalis connect with Korean culture on an academic as well as emotional level.

During his opening remarks, Ambassador Tae‑young Park thanked everyone who supported the event. He spoke warmly about the role of K‑Beauty, Korean dramas, K‑Pop, and language in strengthening bonds between Nepal and South Korea. He said these shared passions build real friendships between people. He referred to Nepali fans of Korean culture as “civilian envoys of friendship.” He pledged the embassy’s continued support for cultural exchange and cooperation.

Event organizers noted that the K‑Beauty Festa Nepal was not just a showcase of cosmetics or fashion. It was a celebration of transnational friendship. The mix of practical beauty workshops and cultural immersion highlighted how shared interests can deepen connections beyond borders. Many attendees described the day as inspiring and immersive.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Some people said the expert makeup class helped clarify steps they had seen online but never tried. Others said the cultural zone gave them a chance to better understand Korean traditions in a hands‑on way. The mix of commerce, education and fun worked well for diverse groups—from beauty fans to students and families.

The success of the 2025 K‑Beauty Festa Nepal points to future opportunities. Organizers hope to host similar events that mix beauty, art, language and cuisine. They see value in showcasing Korean culture through interactive experiences. For many, the day was a clear reminder that culture can bridge distance and create lasting ties.

Overall, the festival brought together retailers, artists, culture lovers and youth under one celebratory roof. It marked a new chapter in Kathmandu’s cultural calendar. It also underscored the dynamic cultural partnership between Nepal and South Korea—one built on shared curiosity, respect and creative exchange
