Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has firmly rejected allegations that he is surrounded by middlepersons. Speaking at the Fourth National Conference of the Madan Bhandari Foundation in Kathmandu on Sunday, Oli challenged his critics to provide proof of their claims.

    Oli Defends His Integrity

Oli said that accusations about middlepersons having access “even to his bedroom” were made by those who rely on “trickery, conspiracy, and cheating” in politics. He described such claims as baseless and said they were intended to harm his reputation and the government’s image.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the government has been working towards political stability, development, and good governance. He said that false accusations surface only because the government is making real progress.

    Call for UML-Nepali Congress Coalition

During his speech, Oli also stressed the importance of forming a coalition government between the CPN (UML) and the Nepali Congress. He said that a coalition between the two major parties is the “need of the hour” to ensure the country’s continued development and stability.

He criticized those who predicted the fall of the government after Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba returned from Thailand. “They have now eaten crow,” Oli said, highlighting the need for analytical thinking within political parties.

    Oli Stresses Ideology and Credibility

The UML Chair underlined that his party wishes to grow through its ideologies, integrity, and credible efforts. He urged party members and supporters to focus on building trust and credibility rather than being swayed by rumors and conspiracies.

“We aim to strengthen the party through honest work and by sticking to our core principles,” Oli stated.

    Political Stability a Priority

Oli’s comments come at a time when Nepal’s political landscape remains delicate. Stability has been a major concern since frequent government changes in the past decade. Many political experts believe that a strong coalition could provide the stability needed to advance development projects and governance reforms.

According to a report by the Asian Development Bank, political stability is a key factor for economic growth in Nepal. The report states that countries with stable governments attract more foreign investments and see faster improvements in living standards.

    Reactions from Other Leaders

Other political leaders have responded cautiously to Oli’s remarks. Some members of the Nepali Congress have expressed openness to dialogue about a possible coalition, while others remain skeptical.

Political analyst Dr. Surya Thapa said, “A UML-Nepali Congress coalition could provide the country with much-needed stability. However, trust between the parties must be built carefully.”

    Looking Ahead

Prime Minister Oli called on all political forces to work together for the national interest. He urged leaders across parties to avoid personal attacks and focus on solving the country’s pressing problems, such as economic recovery, infrastructure development, and improving public services.

Observers say that Oli’s call for unity and his defense against accusations show his intent to strengthen his political position while keeping the focus on national development.
